even without the Clooneys….Getting married on Lake Como is every bride’s dream.  And how could we possibly contradict you? The atmosphere of the place, unique and enchanted, surrounded by mountains sinking into the water, would open anyone’s heart. Today we take pleasure in speaking of one of the best-known places on the planet for celebrating your wedding.  Villa del Balbianello – a unique setting both for the ceremony and the reception – practically inaccessible from dry land and splendidly sheltered overlooking the lake, it seems like the enchanted garden of fairies, reachable only by boat.

Let us say that the dream (which is also our own) is a modern romantic wedding, with guests arriving by boat – not a noisy motorboat – but cradled in the great silence that surrounds the entire valley.  The ceremony in the garden followed by an Italian-style aperitif including lots of ice-cream and a vintage cart.

 

The villa requires no lavish decorations, as the skilfully attended garden is already the perfect setting for unique photographs.  For the reception you can choose one of the private villas nestling on the water’s edge among the vegetation surrounding the lake, or the dream-like Villa D’Este – the choice of ambassadors and illustrious historical figures who favoured the lake for its silence and peace.
